ROME — NEB picked up their second straight win as three different players scored in their 3-0 win over Towanda during NTL girls soccer action Monday.

Aurelia Kolesar, Emilie Maynard, and Lizzie Stanton all scored for the Panthers, with Mallorie Maynard and Kara Dughi each earning an assist.

"That was a big win tonight," NEB coach Joel Howland said. "Its two in a row for us and I feel like momentum is on our side, and that's where we need it."

Just over 10 minutes into the game Kolesar was able to score to make it 1-0 Panthers.

Halfway through the second half Emilie Maynard scored off an assist from her sister, Mallorie Maynard, to make it 2-0.

The final goal came with five minutes left as Stanton found the back of the net off a Dughi helper.

"The second half I told the girls going out they needed to make clean passes," said Howland. "We needed to touch the ball through, and we needed to make our thru balls a little shorter. All of that worked."

NEB out shot Towanda 34-7, and had a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.

Maggie Chappell had three keeper saves to get the clean sheet for the Panthers, with Mya Maynard earning 30 saves for the Knights.

"Our keeper made some fantastic saves when Towanda was on the attack to keep a clean sheet," said Howland. "Hats off to Mya Maynard. She's one of the best goalies in the NTL, and she played a dynamite game. We were lucky to get three by her."

NEB (2-3) hosts NP-Mansfield on Wednesday, with Towanda (2-3) traveling to Williamson.
