BLOOMSBURG — Things couldn't have gone any better for Towanda at the Bloomsburg Invitational on Saturday, as both varsity squads walked away as champions.
The girls scored 76 points to take first, with the boys scoring 89 points to get the top spot.
Maris Cobb (18:43.8) won the race for the Lady Knights, as Izzy Larson (20:05.3) came in fifth. Mary-Kate Eberlin (21:11.91) was 18th, Kenzie Brown (22:00.9) took 32nd, and Taylor Aquilio (22:25.6) was 38th to round out their scorers.
Also for Towanda, Lucie Bruson (23:13.2) came in 58th, Leila Cobb (23:53.8) was 84th, Angie Tavani (24:00) finished 85th, and Kyleigh Chilson (28:54.7) took 170th.
On the boys side Emmett Klees (16:35.9) was second overall with Boom Thompson (17:13.8) finishing 12th. Brayden Cox (17:15.1) was 15th, Phillip Spinney (17:42.6) came in 31st, and Hagen Jones (18:06.91) was 37th to round out their scorers.
Jackson Frederick (19:09.5) was 66th, Owen Brown (19:29) came in 80th, Jaydon Stranger (19:35.7) finished 86th, Nathan Little (19:49) was 95th, and Hayden Blake (21:45.61) took 177th.
In junior high girls action the Lady Knights took 20th with 482 points.
Talia Dzurinko (12:56.8) was 37th to lead the Knights, with Harper McCarthy (14:00.30 taking 88th.
Mirabella Ackley (14:40.4) came in 126th, Brionna Maynard (15:02.7) took 146th, Brynlee Maynard (15:33.8) was 175th, and Madelyn Cox (15:46) was 181st.
Two Black Knights ran in the junior high boys race: Cameron Stranger (12:07.8) was 72nd, and Byran Dunn (12:14.8) took 84th.
