NEWARK VALLEY, N.Y. — The Towanda boys cross-country team won the team title at the Bob Greene Invitational in Newark Valley on Friday.
The Knights had 59 points, edging out Abington Heights (67).
Towanda had four in the top 15 led by Emmett Klees (16:56.4) in third.
Boom Thompson (17:37.7) was ninth, Brayden Cox (17:51.2) came in 11th, Phillip Spinney (17:52.4) was 12th, and Hagen Jones (18:43.7) took 28th.
Also for Towanda, Jackson Frederick (19:22.8) was 41st, Jaydon Stranger (19:43) came in 47th, Wyatt Jones (20;16.7) took 57th, and Blake Ackley (20:45.1) was 69th.
The Lady Knights were second with 51 points behind Abington Heights (37).
Maris Cobb (19:02.9) took home first place for Towanda as Izzy Larson (20:03.6) came in third.
Mary-Kate Eberlin (20:43.5) was eighth, Taylor Aquilio (22:04) took 21st, and Kenzie Brown (22:14) took 23rd.
Lcuie Gruson (23:23.4) was 31st, Leila Cobb (23:32.2) came in 33rd, and Angie Tavani (23:57) was 36th.
In modified girls action Towanda took fifth with 148 points, led by Talia Dzurinko (11:14.7) in 10th place.
Brionna Maynard (11:59.4) was 28th, Harper McCarthy (11:59.6) came in 29th, Mirabella Ackley (12:31.6) was 37th, and Madelyn Cox (13:47.4) took 61st.
In the modified boys race Byran Dunn (10:38.3) was 26th, Cameron Stranger (10:57.4) came in 30th, and Jackson Marr (12:19.3) was 77th.
