SUSQUEHANNA RIVER RATS GO 2-1 AT COLLEGE SHOWCASE (2022-07-20)

The Susquehanna River Rats 16U team went 2-1 at the Diamond Nation Showcase Tournament last weekend. They were 10th out of 36 teams.

They opened with a 6-1 win over over the Locked In Expos Blue, using a 5-run second inning to propel themselves to victory.


Isaac Shaffer went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Rats, while Lucas Kraft was 1-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI.


Nick Vanderpool Jr. and Hunter House both went 1-for-3 with a run scored, while Camryn Harwick and C.J. Carr were both 1-for-3 with a run scored, and an RBI.


Kraft went the distance to get the win on the mound, striking out nine with four hits, three walks and one unearned run.


They then lost to the SJ Blue Jays 11-4, as a 7-run fourth inning by the Blue Jays doomed them.


Trehnon Hugo went 2-for-3 with a run scored, while Vanderpool was 1-for-3 with two runs scored, and an RBI. Carr went 1-for-3 with a run scored, as well.


Camden Allen went the first three innings, striking out two with six hits, two walks, and nine runs, seven of which were earned. Hugo went the final 2 1/3-innings, with four hits, two walks, and two runs, one of which was earned.


In their final game they beat UnCommon Black 6-4.


Hugo went 1-for-3 with 2-RBI, while Shaffer was 1-for-3 with a run scored, and an RBI. Harwick was 1-for-3 with a run scored, Carr went 1-for-2 with an RBI, Kenny Mapes was 1-for-2 with two runs scored, and Allen also had a hit, going 1-for-4. House would score twice, as well.


House got the win, striking out eight with six hits, five walks, and four earned runs.
