One of the busiest weeks of the fall season, with football hitting the midway point.

FOOTBALL

Friday, September 23

Athens (3-1) at Troy (4-0), 7 p.m.: The Trojans will put their undefeated record on the line as they welcome the Wildcats. Troy is coming off a win over Wyalusing, while Athens eked out a victory over Wellsboro on the road.


Wellsboro (0-4) at Towanda (1-3), 7 p.m.: The Knights will hold their Military Appreciation Game as they take on the winless Hornets. Wellsboro lost a close one to Athens last week, while Towanda fell to undefeated Canton.


Wyalusing (1-3) at Montgomery (1-3), 7 p.m.: Both teams are coming off loss, Wyalusing to Troy, and Montgomery to Muncy.


Saturday, September 24

South Williamsport (3-1) at Canton (4-0), 1 p.m.: Canton’s annual day game, as they’re coming off a big win over Towanda. South comes in on a 3-game winning streak.


VOLLEYBALL

Monday, September 19

Towanda (1-3) at Wellsboro (5-2), 7 p.m.: The Knights will look to start clawing back up the standings as they hit the road. The Hornets are riding a three match win streak.


Tuesday, September 20

Canton (5-0) at NP-Liberty (4-1), 7 p.m.: The Warriors nearly topped NPL last year, losing in five sets at home, so will look to end NPL’s NTL win streak.


Towanda (1-3) at NEB (2-3), 7 p.m.: The Panthers will look to end a 2-match losing streak as they host Towanda, whose on a 2-match losing streak as well..


Troy (1-3) at CV (0-5), 7 p.m.: Troy will look to break their 2-match losing streak as they hit the road to Westfield.


Wyalusing (5-3) at Sayre (0-2), 7 p.m.: The Rams are coming off a silver place finish at the Tunkhannock Tournament over the weekend.


Thursday, September 22

Athens (3-1) at Wyalusing (5-3), 7 p.m.: A match-up between two of the top three teams in the Class AA, District IV standings. The Rams come in ranked second, and Athens third.


Canton (5-0) at Wellsboro (5-2), 7 p.m.: Another trip out west for the Warriors as they look to stay undefeated. 


CV (0-5) at Towanda (1-3), 7 p.m.: A busy week for the nights, as this is their 3-match in four days. The Indians are searching for their first win.


Williamson (3-2) at Troy (1-3), 7 p.m.: The Trojans welcome the Warriors, who recently won their own tournament’s title. Troy is looking to break a 2-match losing streak.


Saturday, September 24

Troy (1-3) at Loyalsock (2-3), 2 p.m.: A non-league match on the road, as the Trojans eye a chance to get closer to .500. The Lancers are riding a 2-match win streak.


GIRLS’ SOCCER

Tuesday, September 20

NPM (1-5) at NEB (5-2), 4 p.m.: The Panthers will be looking to rebound from their loss at Wyalusing, while the Tigers will be trying to end a 3-game match streak.


Towanda (1-4-1) at Troy (7-2), 4 p.m.: The Trojans are coming off a 2-0 week that saw them get wins over Wyalusing and Athens. The Knights will be looking to come back from a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to Wellsboro.


Wyalusing (6-2) at Athens (2-2), 5:30 p.m.: The Rams are coming off a big win over NEB, and head to the Wildcats, where they won against them last year. 


Thursday, September 22

NEB (5-2) at Williamson (2-2-1), 4 p.m.: The Panthers hit the road against a Warriors team that is coming off a tie with Towanda.


NPM (1-5) at Troy (7-2), 4 p.m.: Another home game for the Trojans as they welcome NP-Mansfield. The Trojans have won their last three matches.


Wellsboro (3-3) at Wyalusing (6-2), 4 p.m.: The Rams return home to take on a Hornets team that’s been up-and-down this season.


Athens (2-2) at Towanda (1-3-1), 6 p.m.: The evening match for the Knights as they come back home. Both teams will be looking to get some momentum going.


Saturday, September 24

Hughesville (6-2) at Towanda (1-3-1), 11 a.m.: A tough slate of games for Towanda ends with the Spartans, a team that’s beaten both Troy and Wellsboro this year.


BOYS’ SOCCER

Monday, September 19

Sullivan County (3-1) at Troy (0-8), 4 p.m.: The Trojans will look to get even with the Griffins, after falling at Sullivan County earlier in the season. This will just be Troy’s second home match of the year.


Montgomery (2-4) at Towanda (0-8), 5:30 p.m.: The Knights will be looking to nab their first win of the season as they take on the Red Raiders. Montgomery recently had a 4-1 win over NPL.


Wednesday, September 21

Athens (4-4) at NEB (5-2), 4 p.m.: A big NTL match-up as the Panthers, who will be looking to be at full strength, take on the defending league champions. The Wildcats are coming off back to back losses.


Troy (0-8) at Towanda (0-8), 4 p.m.: Both teams will be looking get their first wins of the season.


Saturday, September 24

NEB (5-2) at Williamson (6-2), 10 a.m.: The Warriors are coming off three straight wins as they host the Panthers.


NPL (2-7) at Troy (0-8), 10 a.m.: The Trojans welcome the Mounties, who recently edged Galeton on the road.


CROSS-COUNTRY

Tuesday, September 20

Wyalusing at Sullivan County, 4:30 p.m.: Both Ram teams coming 1-0, while the Griffins both went 0-2 last week. 


NEB at Canton, 4:30 p.m.: Both the Panthers and Canton are 2–0 for boys and girls, with NEB coming off sweeps at the Lasagna Invitational. 


NPM, Wellsboro at Towanda, 4:30 p.m.: The two Towanda teams are 1-1, as they host NPM and the Hornets. NPM’s teams are 0-2, with Wellsboro girls 1-1, and the boys 0-2.


Troy, Sayre at Athens, 4:30 p.m.: A big NTL Large School match-up between the Trojans and Wildcats. The Trojans are the defending league champions, with Athens their toughest competition in the division last season. The Troy girls are 2-0 coming in, with the boys 0-2, while both Athens teams are 1-1.


Saturday, September 24

Troy, Wyalusing, NEB at Owego Invitational, 9 a.m.: Three area teams will be heading up to New York for the annual invite.


GOLF

Monday, September 19

NTL at Towanda Country Club, 1:30 p.m.: The Rams will play hosts for the league’s second match at Towanda. If Athens gets another sweep here, it all but sews up the league title for them.


Wednesday, September 21

Towanda at District IV Qualifier (White Deer): The Knights will be looking to qualify a few individuals for the District IV Championships next week.


GIRLS’ TENNIS

Tuesday, September 20

Bucktail (8-0) at Towanda (1-8), 4 p.m.: The Lady Knights fell at Bucktail earlier in the season, as this kicks off a 3-match week for them.


Thursday, September 22

Towanda (1-8) at Wellsboro (1-8), 4 p.m.: They lost a tough 3-2 battle to the Hornets earlier this season, and will look to get some revenge as travel over there.


Saturday, September 24

NPL (2-4) at Towanda (1-8), 4 p.m.: Towanda got their loan against NPL a couple weeks ago, being them 4-1 at home.
