Northern Tier Sports ReportROME — A rough first half doomed NEB in their 5-0 loss to Athens during NTL boys’ soccer action Wednesday.
The Wildcats scored all five goals in the first half, as Marco Quiros had a hat trick for Athens. Brayden Post and Kory Miller also scored goals.
This is NEB’s first league loss of the season, and ties them with Athens in the standings. Wellsboro leads, being undefeated on the year.
Athens out shot NEB 14-3, while NEB had a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.
The Panthers travel to Williamson on Saturday.
