NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: TROY OPTIMISTIC FOR SEASON (2021-01-04)

TROY — Troy boys’ basketball returned to the court on Monday after the mandatory 3-weeks off.

They have some unfinished business, coming up just short of an NTL title last year, and then players seem to be ready to finish was they started a year ago.

“Our mood so far has been very positive,” assistant coach Cody Martin said back in December. “We are taking it one day at a time and focusing on getting better each day.”

They tip things off with Athens next Tuesday, but have to get all of their initial practices in first. As they’ve seen this year, nothing is guaranteed.

“We know that with the Covid virus that this can be taken away from us quickly,” said Martin. “So we are just focusing on the moment and working hard to become a team first.”
