TOWANDA — Towanda swimmers were able to get back in the pool this week after a 3-week hiatus.

“It’s a challenge,” said assistant coach Amy Brennan.

They don’t know when their first meet will be but they can start as soon as January 11th, roughly a week away. That gives them very little time to prepare the swimmers, but, considering everything that’s going on, it doesn’t surprise the coaches.

“I think this year has been a challenge for everybody,” said Brennan.

They like what they see so far, though, and feel the positive vibe from the swimmers is a good indication about how the season will go.

“I think the kids have handled really well,” Brennan said. “They’ve gotten into the pool with a lot of energy, and we’re just going to do the best that we can. I think that it’s important that we have goals, but that we also have grace with ourselves and others as we navigate this pandemic.”
