
ATHENS — The Troy 7-and-8 year old baseball team won the Athens tournament title, beating Sayre 15-5 in four innings in the title game.
They scored five runs in each of the first two innings to take a 10-0 lead. Sayre came back with four runs in the top of the third to cut the deficit to six runs.
They would get another in the fourth, but Troy ended the game with a 5-run bottom half for the 10-run win.
Garrett Leffler scored three times, as River Barth, Jase Sheeley, and Brice Putnam had two runs apiece.
Isaac Watson, Macksim Kinner, Jairo MiSenas, Brennan Scott, Braiden Cole, and Maverick May also scored.
Leffler and Sheeley combined for 12 strikeouts.
