
ROME — In a match that saw just two bouts wrestled on the mat Towanda defeated Northeast Bradford 66-9 in NTL action Tuesday.
It was the season opener for both teams.
The Knights had 10 forfeits on the night: Clay Watkins (215), Dalton Lunn (106), John Parker (113), Mykee Nowell (120), Joey Vanderpool (132), Dillon Gallagher (138), Garrett Chapman (145), Jayne McPeak (160), Brandon Lantz (172) and Spencer Jennings (189).
At 185 Towanda’s Alex Perez scored a fall over NEB’s Kamden Ricci in 1:30 for their other victory.
NEB’s Jack Shumway (152) earned a close 13-12 decision against Towanda’s Evan Johnson while fellow Panther Tristen Dunn (126) scored a forfeit.
Towanda returns to action Thursday at Warrior Run while both teams wrestle in quad meets on Saturday. Towanda hosts the Dandy Duals while NEB is at Meadowbrook Christian.
