Northern Tier Sports Report
ROME — It was a tough day at the NEB Tournament on Saturday for Troy boys’ soccer as they dropped both contests.

They opened the day with a 3-2 loss to Blue Ridge, then fell on penalty kicks to Elk Lake after it was tied 2-2.

They were down 2-0 at the half against Blue Ridge but got second half goals from Brady Spalding and Logan Prouty. However Blue Ridge was able to score, as well, for the winner.

Ethan Hoffman had an assist, while Tim Hornung had nine saves in goal.

Hornung and Landon Lee each had a goal in the Elk Lake contest, with Hornung making 21 saves in net.

Troy will host Wellsboro on Tuesday with a 4 p.m. start.
