
MONTGOMERY — Northeast Bradford used a strong defensive effort to down Meadowbrook Christian, 40-22, in the first round of Montgomery’s boys basketball tournament Friday.
They held Meadowbrook to just four first half field goals as they took a 23-9 lead at the half, and never looked back.
Cooper Brown was 7-for-10 on the day for 14 points to lead NEB, with four boards and three assists.
Cayden McPherson went 4-for-4 inside the arc for eight points, while Dillon Donnelly was 3-for-7 from deep for nine points.
Josh Stanton was 3-for-5 from the field for seven points, to go with three boards, five assists, and three steals.
Tanner Herb had two points and five rebounds, while Will Herb chipped in with four boards. Eli Stanton nabbed two steals on the day.
Josh Dugan led Meadowbrook with eight points.
It was a low scoring first quarter as four different Panthers scored to give NEB a 9-2 lead.
Brown went off for 10 of NEB’s 14 second quarter points to give them the 14 point advantage at the half.
They held Meadowbrook to just two points in the third, while they netted nine themselves, behind five points from Josh Stanton, to secure the win.
Northeast will now play in the title game on Saturday back at Montgomery.
