NTL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: KITCHEN'S BIG 4TH QUARTER PUSHES CANTON PAST CV (2024-01-03)

CANTON — Canton used a big second half to top CV, 46-33, and win their fourth straight game during NTL girls’ basketball action Wednesday.

The game was tied at 15 during the half, but a 31-18 run by the Warriors in the second half pushed them through.


Kendall Kitchen went 7-for-15 from the field for 15 points, scoring 10 of them in their 17-point fourth quarter, while adding four steals.


Cailyn VanNoy had 12 points and seven assists, as Daveian Crowley finished with a double-double of 11 points, on 5-for-9 shooting, to go with 14 boards. She also had two blocks.


Lydia Roupp chipped in with six points, as Jaylee Ward had two points and two assists. Alexis McRoberts finished with six boards and two steals, while Stella Rockwell also had two steals.


Ashley Woodring led CV with 14 points.


The game was tied 6-6 after the first quarter with Crowley leading Canton behind a four point effort. Both teams scored nine in the second quarter, with Crowley netting four again, while Kitchen hit a 3-ball.


The Warriors got some separation in the third as they out scored CV 14-11. VanNoy had seven points the quarter while Roupp scored all six of hers.


Kitchen then went off in the fourth as the Warriors pulled away thanks to a 17-7 final frame.


Canton (5-6) hosts Sayre next Tuesday.
