CANTON — Canton was cold to start the game and never really got back into it as they fell to Williamson, 46-25, during NTL girls’ basketball action Saturday.
Williamson jumped out to a 30-7 lead at the half and never looked back.
Cailyn VanNoy had 10 points and seven steals to lead Canton, while Kendall Kitchen added seven points, six rebounds, and two steals.
Danah Wesneski and Alexis McRoberts had two points each, with McRoberts adding two steals, as Cheyenne Fitch netted two. Daveian Crowley chipped in with six rebounds.
Taylor Rae Jones had 19 points to lead Williamson, with Kenna Thomas adding 16.
Jones had seven first quarter points as Williamson jumped out to a 14-5 lead. She hit two 3-balls in the second, with Thomas netting eight for Williamson to lead them to the 23 point halftime advantage.
VanNoy had four points for Canton in the third, but Williamson added to their lead, out scoring them 10-6 behind six points from Jones.
Canton finished strong in the fourth, out scoring Williamson 12-6 as they hit three 3-balls as a team.
Canton (6-9) is at Athens on Monday.
