NTL TRACK & FIELD: TROY BOYS DOMINATE AT CANTON'S KIRBY RELAYS, NEB, TOWANDA, AND WYALUSING ALSO IN THE FIELD (2024-04-05)

CANTON — Troy rolled to the boys’ team title at the Kirby Classic Relays on Friday.

The Trojans finished with 180 points, followed by Williamson (105) in second. NEB (93.5) was third, Towanda (91) took fourth, Wyalusing (84) was fifth, Canton (42) came in sixth, and Sayre (15.5) finished seventh.


In the 4x00 relay NEB’s foursome of Brayden Miller, Brody Bennett, Aiden Kapr, and Creed Dewing won in 9:07.99, with Wyalusing’s team of John Heeman, Ethan Vanderpool, Landen Kaufmann, and Brayden Johnson took second in 9:43.04.


Canton’s team of Brayden Vroman, Lawrence Halbfoerster, Landon Lake, and Simon Wile took third in 10:20.58.


Wyalusing was third in the mixed 4x100 relay in 53.19 with a team of John Kerin, Vayda Rought, Kassandra Kerin, and Gage Golden.


In the throwers mixed relay NEB went 1-2 with times of 58.68 and 59.10. The ‘A’ team was made up of Emma Neuber, Cora Franklin, Lex Cradle, and Tyler Russell, the ‘B” team had Abigail Chobot, Amelia Kapr, Westen Perkins, and Carsen Perkins.


Troy’s foursome of Charles Oldroyd, Ben Warburton, Colin Loveland, and Jacob Hinman won the 4x100 relay in 44.86 with Wyalusing’s team of Zibiah Walton, Shay Gartland, Dylan Johns, and James Rogan took third in 48.51.


NEB’s Creed Dewing (4:58.62) was second in the 1600 behind Williamson’s Kristian Mizdail (4:43.57). Canton’s Lawrence Halbfoerster was third in 5:06.47.


Hinman (52.66) and Towanda’s Michael Ferrulli (54.53) went 1-2 in the 400.


NEB’s Aiden Kapr (44.21) won the 300 hurdles followed by Troy’s Rylan Breidt (48.04) and Towanda’s Aiden Blokzyl (49.50).


Bennett (2:18.53) and Miller (2:19.09) went 2-3 in the 800 behind Williamson’s Jeavon Eick (2:18.30).


Hinman (23.69) and Oldroyd (24.76) went 1-2 in the 200.


Dewing (10:56.87) won the 3200 followed by Halbfoerster (10:59.68) and Panther Ryan Jones (11:05.91).


NEB’s 4x400 relay of Miller, Ayden Finch, Kapr, and Dewing won in 3:50.59 as Towanda’s team took third in 4:00.45.


Towanda’s Varrius Farrell (111-feet, 3-inches) won the discus followed by Troy’s Kael Millard (108-feet, 11-inches) and Avery Sens (105-feet, 8-inches).


Canton’s Wyatt Karpinski (133-feet, 8-inches) won the javelin with Kapr (126-feet, 3-inches) second, and Sens (125-feet, 4-inches) third.


Loveland (20-feet, 4 3/4-inches) and Warburton (19-feet, 7 1/2-inches) went 1-2 in the long jump while Walton (19-feet, 2-inches) came in third.


Loveland (40-feet, 4 3/4-inches) won the triple jump as Gartland (37-feet, 1 3/4-inches) and Walton (36-feet, 10-inches) were second and third.


Johns (6-feet) won the high jump with Troy’s Kendrick Ross (5-feet, 8-inches) and Cameron Morey (5-feet, 8-inches) second and third. Trojan Hart Houseknecht was third at 8-feet, 6-inches.


Sens (47-feet, 3 3/4-inches) won the shot put with Farrell (41-feet, 9 1/2-inches) second.


Troy’s Hart Houseknecht was third in the pole vault at 8-feet, 6-inches, behind Williamson’s Aiden O’Neal (10-feet) and Gavin Cloos (9-feet).
