TROY — Troy only managed one hit as they fell to Wellsboro, 6-0, during District 15 All-star Majors baseball winner’s bracket semifinals action Sunday.
The game was scoreless through four with Wellsboro breaking through with a run in the top of the fifth. They pushed five more across in the sixth to secure the win.
Blaine Fish (1-for-2) had the Troy hit. He also started, and went 4 1/3-innings with seven strikeouts. Blake Putnam tossed the next inning with two strikeouts, while Larry Dean pitched two-thirds of an inning with a strikeout.
Troy will host Allegheny Mountain on Monday with a 6 p.m. start. A win sends them to the consolation bracket final on Wednesday, a loss and their season is over.
