WESTFIELD — Towanda swept the singles matches to beat CV, 3-2, during NTL girls’ tennis action Wednesday.
At first singles Towanda’s Lainey Alderfer defeated Chelsea Wattles 6-0, 6-0, while at second singles Nadia Alderfer won 6-1, 6-0 over Daniko Gerdner. At third singles Knight Emma Ackley held off Jewel Smith 6-4, 7-5.
The doubles matches were competitive, though CV took both. At first doubles Towanda’s Jaden Conklin and Maddy Blanchard took the first set 6-2, lost the next 6-4, then fell in the tie-breaker 15-13 to Alexandria Fuhrer and Makenna Burdick.
At second doubles CV’s team of Ellie Blackwell and Holly Peers won 6-4, 6-3 over Jenalee Coe and Dalila Vega.
Towanda (3-4) hosts Bucktail on Monday at 4 p.m.
