Northern Tier Sports ReportTROY — Wyalusing rallied past Troy, 39-29, in NTL wrestling action Monday.
The Trojans built a 26-18 lead, but Wyalusing closed 21-3 in the final five weights to secure the victory.
Daniel Fox (215) led things off for the Rams with a forfeit, but Troy got back to back falls from Reed Palmer (285) and Garret Parks (107) to go up 12-6.
The two teams traded forfeits for the next three weights with Wyalusing getting wins out of Isaiah Harvey (114) and Bostyn McMicken (127) while Troy’s Connor Dibble (121) got a victory.
With the match tied the Trojans got major decisions from Keagan Kerr (133) and Marcus Frisbie (139) to take the eight point lead. Kerr beat Jackson Fischer 10-0, while Frisbie won over Marshall Huston 13-1.
However, a Reuben Kinney (145) fall sparked three straight wins from Wyalusing. Jonathan Earle (152) defeated Carter Austin 6-1, then Ayden Hunsinger (160) got a fall to close out the win.
Troy’s Rylan Breidt (172) pulled out an 8-1 decision over Conner Earle, while Wyalusing’s Ethan Vanderpool (189) ended the match with a forfeit.
Troy (2-5) travels to NP-Liberty on Tuesday while Wyalusing (8-8) is at Williamson on Wednesday.
