TIOGA JUNCTION — Wyalusing came up just short in their 39-33 loss to Williamson during NTL wrestling action Wednesday.
The Warriors won seven matches to Wyalusing’s six, though the Rams led 30-18 at one point. Williamson, though, won four of the final five matches to pull out the win.
Isaiah Harvey (114) got the Rams on the scoreboard with a forfeit, but Williamson scored back to back forfeits after that to take a 12-6 lead.
Jackson Fischer (133) would get a fall to knot things up, only for Williamson’s Kohen Flynn to score a pin, putting them up 18-12.
That’s when the heart of Wyalusing’s order came through, getting three straight falls from Reuben Kinney (145), Jonathan Earle (152), and Ayden Hunsinger (160) to put them up 30-18.
Williamson came back with a technical fall at 172 to make it 30-23.
Ethan Vanderpool (189) pulled out a 16-13 decision over Timothy Freeman in the match of the night, giving Wyalusing a 10-point advantage.
However, Williamson took the final three bouts. Ben Freeman (215) and Luke Sottolano (285) got back to back falls to make it 35-33.
In the final bout at 107 Williamson’s Walker Hyde won 9-0 over Shane Keblitsch to seal the win.
Wyalusing will travel to Towanda Friday for the Standing Stone Trophy.
