RENOVO — Troy held Bucktail to just 14 second half points as they pulled away for a 79-42 win during non-league boys’ basketball action Saturday.
The Trojans held just a 5-point lead after one, but extended that lead to 42-28 at the half before taking control of the game with a 27-point third quarter.
JB Burbage had 21 points, six boards, four assists, and five steals to lead Troy, as Lincoln Chimics notched 18 points, nine rebounds, and two steals.
Trey Teribury had 15 points, and four assists, as Spencer Martin finished with 10 points, eight assists, five boards, and two steals.
Evan Woodward had six points, four boards, five assists, and two steals, while Joseph Frye added five points. Sam Roy and Eason Teribury chipped in with two points apiece.
Both teams had a hot start to the game with Troy taking a 22-17 lead off seven from Chimics, and six out of Burbage.
Burbage paced Troy in the second frame with 11 points as the Trojans out scored Bucktail 20-11.
Chimics then went off in the third with 11 points as Troy out scored the Bucks by 22.
Troy (11-2) will travel to Sayre on Wednesday.
