COLLEGE: TROY GRAD SEYMOUR EARNS WIN AGAINST NAVY (2025-01-18)

The Lehigh Mountain Hawks took to the road again this weekend. This time the trip took them a little south to Annapolis, Maryland to take on the Midshipmen of the U.S. Naval Academy. 

With the match starting at 184, Sheldon Seymour would have to wait to get to the mat. When it was his turn to, the Mountain Hawks were in the lead 8-3 after three matches. Seymour would open the first period working to get his shots going. And before long he would work to get a stall warning on his opponent. Then Seymour would finally connect on a shot to take the 3-0 lead after the first period. 

Starting the second period in the down position, Seymour work to get the 2 point reversal to make the score 5-0.  Seymour would work to build up some ride time before giving up the 1 point escape to make the score 5-1. Working again from their feet Seymoue would earn another 1 point from a stall call on his opponent to make the score 6-1 after 2 periods.

In the third period, Seymour would start in the top position. Seymour working hard from the top position to build his ride time up to over one minute to try and secure another point. Seymour would give up the escape after building up 1:10 of ride time. Seymour would then defend off a shot and turn it into his score for another takedown to make the score 9-2 and Seymour would finish the match on top to earn the extra point to make the final score 10-2 and earn the 4 point major decision to make the team score 12-3. 

The final score would not go Lehigh’s way and in the end it was Navy winning the dual 2-1. Lehigh will be off till the end of January when they return home to the Snake Pit in Lehigh to host American University and Army West Point.
