NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: WILKS, BROWN LEAD NEB PAST WILLIAMSON (2025-01-18)

ROME — For the second time this week NEB’s offense exploded over Williamson, beating them 89-29 during NTL boys’ basketball action Saturday.

The Panthers jumped out to a 29-4 first quarter lead en route to the divisional win.


Clay Wilkes had a double-double with 24 points on 9-for-11 shooting to go with 15 boards, while adding three assists.


Cooper Brown had 18 points on 9-for-16 shooting with seven rebounds, as Tanner Herb netted 16 points, going 4-for-5 from deep, with four boards.


Tyler Thoman had 10 points, and two steals, as Eli Stanton finished with seven points, four rebounds, seven assists, and two steals.


Nate Gross finished with six points, and 10 boards, as Dan Barrett and Mac Burgert had three points each. Burgert also grabbed four boards, and dished out four assists.


Brennin Thoman added two points.


Jack Nolan had 14 points to lead Williamson.


Brown helped break the game open with 12 first quarter points, as Tyler Thoman hit two 3-balls. The Panthers netted 32 more points in the second behind three 3-pointers from Herb, and eight out of Wilks, to go up 61-11 at the half.


NEB out scored Williamson 28-18 in the second half as Wilks finished with 14 over the final two quarters.


The Panthers won the JV contest 53-22 as Barrett scored 15, Gross had 12, and Burgert finished with 11.


NEB (11-4) starts cross-over play next by heading to NP-Mansfield on Wednesday.
