TOWANDA'S SLUYTER, COOK EARN TOP TWO MEDALS AT JH WRESTLING TOURNEY (2025-01-19)

The Towanda junior high girls’ wrestling squad took seventh at the Philipsburg-Osceola Lady Mountie Invite over the weekend.

Kaylen Sluyter (117) paced Towanda by going 3-0 to win a title, posting two falls, and a 6-0 decision in the semifinals.


Kendel Cook (148) took silver as she went 2-1, getting pins in 26 and 38 seconds in the first two rounds before falling by fall in the finals.


Cadence Chilson (103) took fourth in her round robin bracket, going 1-3. Her win was a 10-6 decision.


Ailyn Dulaney (96) went 1-2, just missing the medal round. She was up 13-0 when her opponent injury defaulted.


Leahanne Shay (110) went 0-2.
