Northern Tier Sports ReportCANTON — Canton dropped a 57-33 loss to Sayre during NTL boys’ hoops action Saturday.
Sayre led 13-4 after one, but Canton rallied in the second, cutting it to 21-13 at the half. A 25-point third quarter by Sayre secured the win.
Ben Fitch had 17 points to lead the Warriors with Talin Williams netting six. Ryder Route, and Simon Wile had three points apiece, with Monte Whitehead, and Rylan Wesneski scoring two points apiece.
Zach Senese had 22 points to lead Sayre.
Sayre hit three 3-pointers in the first to take the 11-point lead. Fitch rallied Canton in the second with four points.
In the third quarter Senese, Hudson Trump, and Nick Pellicano had seven points each in Sayre’s big frame. Fitch had seven for Canton in the frame, but they couldn’t keep pace.
Canton (5-9) travels to Athens on Wednesday.
