TUNKHANNOCK — Towanda swimmers were able to hit more PRs and district qualifying market at the Tunkhannock Invitational over the weekend.
“It was a great meet for Towanda swimmers,” said Towanda coach Hannah Deacon. “We had many best times and a couple more district qualifiers. The team has been putting in the work in practice and their hard work is paying off.”
On the girls’ side the Towanda 200 medley relay of Allexys Shaffer, Marin Maynard, Reagan Deacon, and Morgan Lamphere took 22nd in 2:47.28.
Lamphere (3:16.11) was 44th in the 200 free with Maynard (33.77) 68th in the 50 free. Lamphere (38.30) came in 86th.
Lamphere (1:26.11) took 67th in the 100 free, with Maynard (1:36.10) 25th in the 100 breaststroke, as Deacon (1;39.83) came in 28th.
For the boys’ the foursome of Sean Lauber, Lincoln Shanks, Nolan Deacon, and Shane Maghamez took seventh in the 200 medley relay in 2:21.48. The B team of Curtis Carter, Clay Wrisley, Hudson Wheaton, and Brennick Lain finished 21st in 2:28.55.
Lauber (2:18.06) and Alex Lantz (2:20.34) were 19th and 20th in the 200 free, with Kenneth Carle (2:24.48) 21st. Wheaton (2:57.48) was 35th, with Wrisley (2:59.60) taking 40th.
Lain (25.70) finished 24th in the 50 free, with Deacon (26.71) 32nd. Lantz (27.79) was 40th, Carle (28.70) finished 51st, Maghamez (28.82) came in 53rd, Shanks (29.29) took 59th, Lake Strickland (30.14) finished 66th, Carter (30.54) was 68th, Xander Pratt (32.11) took 77th, Nathan Little (32.13) was 78th, Wrisley (32.23) finished 80th, and Braydin Mattison (37.85) was 98th.
Lain (58.91) was 21st in the 100, with Lantz (1:01.80) took 30th. Lauber (1:01.91) took 32nd, Shanks (1:05.34) was 47th, Maghamez (1:07.89) came in 53rd, Strickland (1:09.40) took 59th, Pratt (1:11.66) came in 63rd, Carter (1:11.84) was 64th, Wheaton (1:16.32) took 77th, Little (1:17.60) tied for 79th, Wrisley (1:20.47) took 83rd, and Mattison (1:28.47) finished 93rd.
Laine and Deacon qualified for districts in the event.
Deacon (1:07.80) took ninth in the 100 backstroke while Lauber (6:34.64) was 20th in the 500 free. Maghamez (1:16.86) was 21st in the 100 backstroke, with Carter (1:22.51) taking 23rd.
The 200 free relay team of Lain, Carle, Lantz, and Strickland took 14th in 1:53.82. The B team of Mattison, Little, Pratt, and Shanks was 26th in 2:12.53.
