TROY — Troy won nine of 13 matches as they rolled past Elk Lake, 52-24, during non-league wrestling action Monday.
Elk Lake got a fall at 133 to open then things up but Troy took the next five bouts to go up 32-6. Marcus Frisbie (139), Logunn Heasley (145), Carter Austin (152), and Bridon Putnam (160) all got forfeits, as Rylan Breidt (172) scored a fall.
Elk Lake scored forfeits at the next two weights to cut it to 32-18, but Troy’s Reed Palmer (285) earned a 12-2 major decision over Ethan Smith to make it 35-18.
Troy then got forfeits from Garret Parks (107) and Connor Dibble (114) to shut the door. After an Elk Lake forfeit at 121, Wilder Koch (127) ended the match with a fall for the Trojans.
Troy (5-6) will host Williamson and Canton in back to back matches on Wednesday.
