MORRISDALE — Towanda had three semifinalists, along with five others coming through the consolations, after day one of the Ultimate Warrior Wrestling Tournament Friday.
The Knights sat in fourth with 96.5 points going into day two.
Mason Higley (285), Riley Vanderpool (145), and Sawyer Robinson (215) all made the semifinals as they all went 3-0.
Higley did so with two falls, and a tech fall, while Vanderpool had three falls, two of them in the first period. Robinson had a pin, a tech fall, and a 7-3 decision.
Curtis Maynard (121), Gage Evans (133), Reese Sluyter (139), Rylee Sluyter (152), and Tanner Vanderpool (127) were all still going in the consolation bracket.
Maynard, Tanner Vanderpool, and Rylee all went 3-1, as Evans and Reese went 2-1.
Maynard got a fall in his first bout, but lost 8-5 in his second. He scored a fall in his first consolation bout, then won 3-2 to stay alive in his next one.
Evans got a tech fall, and a 7-6 decision to reach the quarters, but lost 17-0 to there. Reese also reached the quarterfinals, getting decisions of 4-1, and 7-6, before falling 7-1.
Rylee won by tech fall in his first match, but then lost 4-1 in his second. In the consolations he pulled out wins of 12-11, and 11-6 to stay alive.
Tanner returned from injury to get a fall in his first match, but then lost by tech fall in his second. He came back with back to back falls to stay alive in the consolations.
Brayden Spencer (145), Chase Geurin (172), Jace Gunther (160), and Zack Lantz (189) all went out on the first day.
Lantz, and Geurin, went 2-2, as Spencer, and Gunther, went 1-2.
