A very busy day with boys and girls hoops action as area teams make up games from Thursday.
BOYS’ BASKETBALL

NEB (13-8) at Sayre (14-7), 7:30 p.m.: The winner likely travels to Troy for the NTL Showdown, and gets the third seed in the District IV, Class AA playoffs
Troy (17-2) at Athens (8-10), 7:30 p.m.: Troy will look to keep their league win streak going, while Athens is 5-1 over their last six.
Wellsboro (10-10) at Towanda (11-8), 7:30 p.m.: A big contest with playoff implications. Wellsboro needs to win one of their final two games to get into districts, Towanda would like to hold on to the seventh spot to avoid a possible play-in game.
Wyalusing (2-15) at NP-Mansfield (17-3), 7:30 p.m.: The final road game of the season for the Rams as they look to finish the season strong.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Sayre (2-16) at NEB (14-5), 6 p.m.: An NEB win clinches their sixth straight league title. They beat Sayre earlier in the week on the road.
Canton (12-7) at NP-Liberty (8-12), 6 p.m.: Canton is within a hair’s breadth of getting a first round playoff game for districts. If they win out, and Shik beats Southern Columbia, there’s a good chance they slip into fourth. NPL, though, will be looking to keep from going 0-3 against Canton this season.
