
ROME — For the second time this week NEB girls’ hoops rolled past Sayre, beating the Redskins 56-20 during NTL action Friday.
Eight different Panthers scored in the game as they jumped out to a 26-8 first quarter lead.
Lillie Maynard and Becca VanDeMark had 12 points each, as Maynard added six boards, five steals, and four assists, with VandeMark getting five steals, and four assists.
Mallorie Maynard and Lilah Hughes chipped in with eight points apiece, as Hughes also handed out six assists.
Kara Dughi netted seven points, with Aurelia Kolesar getting four points, and four boards. Syd Howland scored three, with Ireland Coats adding two.
Lillie. Maynard scored points in the opening frame, with Mallorie Maynard getting two 3-balls.
In the second they held Sayre scoreless as they took a 38-8 lead at the break, behind four points from VandeMark and Kolesar.
They went to out score Sayre 18-12 in the second half.
NEB (15-5) will travel to Bloomsburg on Saturday for a big non-league match-up.
