NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: TROY PULLS AWAY FROM ATHENS IN FOURTH (2025-02-08)

ATHENS — Troy used a big fourth quarter burst to top Athens, 71-52, during NTL boys’ hoops action Friday.

The Trojans jumped out to a 39-30 lead at the half, but the Wildcats rallied with a 15-point third quarter to cut the deficit to 51-45.


Troy would score 20 points in the fourth to secure the win.


Trey Teribury hit four 3-balls en route to 21 points, to go with seven rebounds, as Jack Burbage had 17 points, nine boards, and two steals.


Lincoln Chimics added 16 points, four boards, four assists, and six steals, as Spencer Martin finished with nine points, five boards, and four steals.


Evan Woodward had quite the stat line with six points, seven assists, four boards, two blocks, and three charges taken, while Joseph Frye notched two points, five boards, four assists, and two steals. Eason Teribury chipped in with four boards.


Adam Kemp had 23 points to lead Athens.


Chimics, and Teribury had six points each in the opening frame as Troy opened up a 19-16 lead. Kemp paced Athens with eight points.


In the second Burbage and Teribury combined for 12 of their team’s 20 points to take the 10-point lead.


Kemp powered Athens’ comeback in the third with eight points, while Burbage had six to lead Troy.


In the final frame Teribury went off for seven points, with Chimics netting six, to allow Troy to bring home the win.


Troy (18-2) finishes the season unbeaten in the league for the second year in a row, and will end the regular season with a trip to Jersey Shore on Saturday.
