
WYALUSING — Wyalusing girls’ basketball held on late to beat NP-Mansfield, 56-47, during NTL hoops action Saturday.
The win pushes the Rams into fourth place in the District IV, Class AAA standings, just ahead of Towanda, with each having one game left.
Wyalusing jumped out to a 27-13 lead at the half, but saw the Tigers rally in the fourth. However, the Rams held them off to secure the win.
Chloe Bennett went 4-for-6 from deep en route to 20 points, while adding three steals, and four assists, as Alysha Botts netted 14 points to go with three steals, and three assists.
Rachel Wilson had 13 points, nine boards, and five steals, with Treanna Nickeson getting five points. Liz Kilmer, and Emily Fowler had two points each, with Fowler grabbing six boards, as Emily Johns chipped in with seven boards.
Claire Dominick led NPM with 16 points.
Wyalusing held a narrow 11-10 lead after one behind five points from Botts. The Rams went off for 16 points in the second as Bennett scored eight, while holding NPM to just three points.
Dominick scored 10 in the third as the Tigers out pointed Wyalusing 16-15, while also out scoring the Rams 18-14 in the fourth. However, Wilson helped keep Wyalusing ahead, pacing the Rams’ fourth quarter effort with six points.
Wyalusing (13-8) will travel to Athens on Monday.
