
TOWANDA — Towanda boys and girls swimmers ended the regular season with wins over Wellsboro during dual meet action Monday.
The girls won 75-22, while the boys won 109-31. They also had two district qualifiers in Brennick Lain (diving), and Alex Lantz (100 free).
“Every single swimmer improved their times and skills,” said Towanda coach Hannah Deacon. “Coach Strickland, and I, are super proud of all the team accomplished this season.”
For the girls the Towanda 200 medley relay team of Kylee Barnes, Marin Maynard, Reagan Deacon, and Allexys Shaffer won in 2:33.44.
Dalila Vega (2:38.70) won the 200 free with teammate Morgan Lamphere (3:01.43) third. Maynard (31.86) was second in the 50 free followed by Barnes (32.60), and Bertille Roth (36.94).
Vega (1:10.57) won the 100 free followed by Barnes (1:15.27), and Katelyn Blokzyl (1:18.51). Lamphere (8:16.13) won the 500 free.
The 200 free relay of Roth, Barnes, Vega, and Deacon won in 2:17.95, as their teammates Maynard, Lamphere, Blokzyl, and Shaffer (2:22.02) came in second.
Deacon (1:42.16) won the 100 breaststroke, with Maynard (1:43.07) second.
The Black Knight 400 free relay of Lamphere, Blokzyl, Roth, and Vega won in 5:33.14.
On the boys’ side Towanda’s foursome of Sean Lauber, Clay Wrisley, Nolan Deacon, and Lantz won in 2:19.16, while the foursome of Curtis Carter, Matthew Weinman, Kenneth Carle, and Nathan Little took second in 2:26.96.
The Knights swept the 200 free with Lauber (2:16.76), Lincoln Shanks (2:30.80), and Hudson Wheaton (3:01.31). Lantz won the 200 IM in 2:55.12.
Brennick Lain (24.96) took second in the 50 free followed by Shane Maghamez (28.71), and Clay Wrisley (31.31). Lain then won the diving with a score of 190.90.
Lantz (59.97) won the 100 free with Lauber (1:01.95) second, and Little (1:22.57) third. Carle (6:44) took second in the 500 free, as Xander Pratt (7:30.45) was third, and Wheaton (8:10.84) came in fourth.
The Towanda 200 free relay of Lantz, Wrisley, Lauber, and Carle won in 1:57.60, as their teammates of Lain, Wheaton, Pratt, and Lake Strickland took second in 1:59.33.
Deacon (1:07.84) won the 100 backstroke with Maghamez (1:15.19) second, and Carter (1:21.53) third.
Shanks (1:33.20) was third in the 100 breaststroke, as Weinman (1:38.33) took fourth, and Strickland (1:42.45) came in fifth.
The Towanda foursome of Deacon, Wrisley, Carle, and Lain won the 400 free relay in 4:29.10, as Maghamez, Carter, Shanks, and Little took second in 4:56.13.
