NTL GIRLS' WRESTLING: NEB HAS THREE WRESTLERS ADVANCE TO REGIONALS FROM DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIPS (2025-02-16)

WILLIAMSPORT — Three NEB wrestlers advanced to the regional tournament at the District IV Girls’ Wrestling Championships Saturday.

Anaiah Kolesar (124) finished second, Ava Lambert (148) was third, and Cora Franklin (155) came in fourth.


All three will compete at the regional tournament in two weeks.


The Panthers had four semifinalists on the day, as Kolesar, Lambert, Franklin, and Dariela Reyes-Ramirez (112) all reached the final four in the winner’s bracket.


Reyes-Ramirez would ultimately take sixth.


Kolesar won her first three bouts with a fall, and two tech falls, but then lost 16-0 to Montgomery’s Emily Murphy in the finals.


Lambert opened with a fall, but then lost by fall in the semis. She picked up a 9-1 in the consolation semifinals, then scored an 11-3 win in the third place match over Towanda’s Lylah Bride.


Franklin opened with a fall, then lost by fall in the semifinals. She eked out a 4-2 win in the consolation semifinals, before getting pinned in the third place match by Shik’s Roslyn Snyder.


Reyes-Ramirez opened with an 8-4 win, then lost in the semifinals. She then got pinned in the consolations semifinals, and the fifth place match, falling to Wellsboro’s Jordan Rumsey.


Mackenzie Clark (130) went 1-2 on the day.
