
WELLSBORO — Sullivan County’s Colton Wade became a 4-time North Section Champion on Saturday as the Griffins sent five wrestlers on to districts.
Wade (127) took home a crown, with Andrew Kapec (114), and Wyatt Bagley (133) both finishing second. Keegan Bagley (139), and Layne Price (152) both came in fourth.
Wade got a fall in the semifinals, then picked up an 18-0 tech fall in the finals over NPL’s Brayden Pequignot.
Kapec got a 9-4 win in the semifinals, but lost 10-0 in the finals to Bryce Pequignot.
Wyatt opened with a fall, then scored an 11-5 win in the semifinals. In the finals he lost 22-3 to Towanda’s Gage Evans.
Price opened with a 14-0 win in the quarterfinals, then lost 19-3 in the semis. In the consolation semifinals he scored a fall, but then lost 19-3 in the third place match.
Keegan Bagley lost his first match 9-0, but then came back to win the next two, beginning with a fall, then nabbing a 4-1 win in the blood round.
In the third place match he lost 6-0 to Canton’s Tommy Preston.
Nathan Christopher (145), and Evan Brown (215) both took fifth, as Jacob Burger (189) came in sixth. Christopher went 2-2, Brown went 0-2, and Burger finished 0-3.
Tucker Evans (160), Riggin McGowen (172), and Alex Hugo (285) all went 0-2.
The District IV Championships begin on Friday of next Week.
