TUNKHANNOCK — Hunter House pitched a game, and drove in the game’s only run as Wyalusing eked out a 1-0 win over Tunkhannock during non-league baseball action Monday.
The Rams pushed one across in the fourth inning, and made it stick as House went five innings with nine strikeouts, two hits, and five walks to get the win. Jared VandeMark pitched two hitless innings to finish things out, striking out two with one walk.
House (1-for-3) had an RBI double, with Kenny Mapes (1-for-3) scoring the run.
Wyalusing lived on the edge defensively, as Tunkhannock had a base runner every inning but the seventh. The Tigers would load the bases in the second, but House got out of it with a strikeout, representing their best chance to score.
In the top of the fourth Mapes hit a 2-out single, stole second, then scored on House’s double for the 1-0 lead.
Wyalusing (1-3) will finally play at home as they host Troy on Tuesday with a 4:30 p.m. start.
