NTL TRACK & FIELD: WYALUSING FALLS TO ATHENS IN SEASON OPENER (2025-03-25)

WYALUSING — Wyalusing hosted Athens in their track and field season opener, with both teams dropping a pair of dual meets. The girls lost 97-53, while the boys fell 109-41.

On the girls’ side the Wyalusing 4x800 relay of Megan King, Camryn Gesford, Riley Port, and Ireland Coats was second in 11:58.42.


Vayda Rought (14.17), and Carol Scarborough (14.28) took second and third in the 100, while they teamed with Aleta O’Connor, and Abby Trowbridge to win the 4x100 relay in 55.89.


Scarborough (29.70) won the 200 with O’Connor (31.17) in third. Gesford (57.86) was third in the 300 hurdles.


The Ram 4x400 relay team of Scarborough, MacKenna Brewer, Gesford, and Willa King took second in 5:06.36.


Gabrielle Palfreyman (30-feet, 2-inches) won the shot put, with teammate Sierra Gromley (24-feet, 1/2-inches) third. Palfreyman (82-feet, 5-inches) won the discus, as Sierra Gromley (71-feet) took third.


Addi Vanderpool (76-feet, 8-inches) and Taydin Gardner (68-feet, 5-inches) went 1-2 in the javelin for the Lady Rams.


Trowbridge (13-feet, 7 1/2-inches) won the long jump as Vanderpool (12-feet, 11-inches) came in third. Trowbridge was third in the high jump in 4-feet, 6-inches.


Vanderpool (28-feet, 1-inch) led a Wyalusing sweep in the triple jump, followed by Liz Kilmer (27-feet, 11 3/4-inches), and Ava King (25-feet, 4 3/4-inches).


Storey Newell (6-feet) was third in the pole vault.


For the boys Wyalusing swept the javelin with Dylan Johns (128-feet, 8-inches), Ethan Vanderpool (119-feet, 9-inches), and Reuben Kinney (111-feet, 2-inches).


James Rogan (15.92) won the 110 hurdles, and second in the 300 hurdles in 45.64, as teammate Jack Fischer (48.87) came in third.


Tyler Caplan (1:01.45) was third in the 400.


The Ram 4x800 relay of Aiden Neiley, Bradyn Johnson, Fischer, and Connor Earle was third in 10:27.11, while their 4x100 relay of Mason Culver, Kinney, Kaleb Anderson, and Tyler Grover was third in 53.43.


Joshua Palfreyman (39-feet, 3 1/2-inches) was second in the shot put, while also taking silver in the discus in 119-feet, 4-inches.


Shay Gartland (19-feet, 1 1/2-inches) was second in the long jump as Zibiah Walton (18-feet, 7 1/4-inches) came in third.


Walton (39-feet, 1/2-inch) won the triple jump, followed by Caplan (36-feet, 8 1/2-inches) second. Johns (6-feet, 2-inches) was second in the high jump, as teammate John Kerin (5-feet, 8-inches) came in third.
