AOW: NEB'S LAUDERMILCH, CANTON'S HALBFOERSTER PUT DOWN SOME BIG PERFORMANCES ON THE TRACK (2025-04-20)

Northern Tier Sports Report
Weather continued to play havoc with the sports schedules this past week, but in the contests that did happen area athletes continued to show out.

On the girls’ side NEB’s Gracelyn Laudermilch won the 1600 and 3200 at the Molly Dry Invitational with two impressive times. She took the mile 5:12.39, and the 2-mile in 11:20.34 - both of them under the state qualifying marks should she run them at the District IV Championships, earning her the Female Athlete of the Week.

For the boys Canton’s Lawrence Halbfoerster broke a 50-year old school record in the mile with his time of 4:32.90, taking second at the tough Mt. Carmel Invitational. That makes Halbfoerster the Male Athlete of the Week.
