NTL BASEBALL: WYALUSING COMES UP SHORT AGAINST NP-MANSFIELD (2025-04-21)

Northern Tier Sports Report
WYALUSING — Wyalusing gave NP-Mansfield a tough fight but ultimately fell 5-0 in NTL baseball action Monday.

It was much closer than their first meeting in March as the Rams didn’t give up a big inning, but their bats couldn’t find the holes in the Tiger defense.

Logan Norton (1-for-2), Eric Ostrowski (1-for-1), and Seth McCammon (1-for-2) had the three Wyalusing hits.

Hunter House got the start, and went into the fifth for four innings of work as he struck out six with four walks, seven hits, and four runs, one of which was earned.

Dawson Biza went the final three innings with no hits, no runs, no strikeouts, and two walks.

Alex Davis went six innings to get the win for the Tigers, striking out two with two walks.

The Tigers broke a scoreless tie with two runs in the third, then added one in the fourth, and two in the fifth to get the win.

Wyalusing threatened in the fourth with runners on second and third, but couldn’t get them in.

Last Saturday the Rams fell to Blue Ridge 9-7 at Mirabito Stadium in Binghamton.

The Rams led by as much as 7-1 after three but a 6-run bottom sixth out of Blue Ridge propelled them to the win.

McCammon (2-for-3) had an RBI while House (1-for-3) had a double with a run scored, and an RBI.

Nolan Aeppli (1-for-3) also scored, and had an RBI, as Michael Phillips (1-for-3), and Kenny Mapes (1-for-4) both had a triple with a run scored.

Isaac Shaffer (1-for-2) scored twice, with Ostrowski also crossing home, as Marshall Huston had an RBI.

House started, and went two innings with four strikeouts, three walks, no hits, and one unearned run.

Ostrowski went 2 1/3-innings with one strikeout, three hits, one walk, and two earned runs.

Huston tossed an inning with one strikeout, one walk, four hits, and four earned runs, as Shaffer went one-third of an inning with one strikeout, three walks, no hits, and two earned runs. Ashton VandeMark went the final third.

Wyalusing (2-8) travels to Williamson on Tuesday.
