
WELLSBORO — Olivia Champluvier and Erinn Knapp combined for a 1-hitter as Troy blanked Wellsboro, 13-0 in five innings, during NTL softball action Tuesday.
Troy jumped out with two runs in the first then added four more in the second. They scored three in the third, then added four in the fourth to seal the win.
Champluvier went the first two innings to get the win, striking out five with one walk, and one hit.
Knapp went the final three innings, striking out five with one walk.
Lauren Ridall (2-for-3) had 4-RBI with three runs scored for Troy as Madi Palmer (2-for-3) had a double with three runs scored, and an RBI.
Marlee Stanton (2-for-4) had a double with a run scored, as Haidyn Watson (1-for-4) had a double and crossed home.
Champluvier (1-for-2) had a double, scored twice, and drove in a run, with Kali Ayres (1-for-3) also crossing home.
Knapp (1-for-3), and Amber James (1-for-3) both had an RBI, as Lauren Reed scored twice.
In the first Ridall led off with a hit, then later scored on a wild pitch.
Ayres would draw a walk then scored three batters later off a James single for the 2-0 lead.
Palmer opened the second with a double, then scored on an error off the bat of Reed. Ridall then reached on a sacrifice as Reed went for home to make it a 2-0 lead.
Ridall would later score to make it 5-0.
Watson would double, then scored on a Knapp sacrifice fly for the 6-0 lead.
Stanton opened the third with a double, followed by Champluvier drawing a walk.
After two outs Ridall singled in both Champluvier and Palmer, then she herself scored on a hit by Ayres to make it 9-0.
Troy scored all four runs in the fourth with two outs as Stanton hit a single, then was plated by a Champluvier double.
Champluvier scored on a Palmer hit. Reed then walked, with Palmer scoring off a Ridall bunt for the 12-0 lead.
Reed later scored on a wild pitch to make it a 13-0 final.
Troy (6-2) has a big game with Athens on Thursday with a 4:30 p.m. start.
