Towanda junior high softball recently swept NP-Liberty in league action.

The ‘A’ team won 4-1 as Maris Cobb (2-for-3) had a triple with a run scored, and Kendal Cook (2-for-2) also scored.


Kaylen Sluyter (1-for-3), and Adeleigh Jankowsky both crossed home as Sadie Overpeck (1-for-1) had a hit.


Cook got the win, striking out 13.


They won the ‘B’ game 10-6 as Lily Bartholomew (2-for-4) had a double with two runs scored.


Madison Vanderpool (1-for-3) scored, with Ryder Spencer and Allison Bowen both scoring twice.


Maddie Nash, Kyleigh Chilson, and Kyleigh Mosier all crossed home, with Maci Alexander (1-for-2) getting a hit.


Jankowsky struck out eight in the win.


Towanda also beat Elk Lake, 7-5, at NEB’s junior high tournament that got rained out.


Cook (3-for-3) was perfect from the plate as Cobb (2-for-3) scored twice.


Sluyter (1-for-4), Taylor Aquillo (1-for-4), Ailyn Dulaney (1-for-4), Emma Bride (1-for-4), and Rhyann Kithcart (1-for-4) all scored.


Jankowsky went 2-for-4 on the day.


Cook struck out 13 in the win.
