WYALUSING — Wyalusing’s Dylan Johns set a new personal record as he won the high jump at the Lasagna Invitational on Friday.

Johns won at 6-feet, 6-inches, besting his personal best by two inches, and is now 1/2-inch away from the school record.

“To do it here at Lasagna in front of tons of people, it feels awesome,” said Johns. “I’m seeing more higher heights, as we just saw, and I’m working on my steps.”

It was a competitive field with six jumpers hitting the 6-foot mark, with five of them from the NTL.

“I love the competition,” said Johns. “It’s great to jump against guys that you know really well. I’m friends with all of them.”

He paced a boys’ team that took sixth with 29 points.

James Rogan was second in the 110 hurdles (16.66) and third in the 300 hurdles (42.86). Zibiah Walton took seventh in the long jump in 19-feet, 1/4-inch.

The 4x100 relay of Ayden Hunsinger, Shay Gartland, Tyler Caplan, and Johns took sixth in 46.71.
