ON TAP TODAY: PLENTY OF DIAMOND ACTION AROUND THE AREA (2025-05-08)

Northern Tier Sports Report
A chilly day but it looks like it might stay rain free as baseball and softball teams get back on the diamond.

SOFTBALL

Troy (8-5) at NEB (8-5), 4:30 p.m.: A win here for the Panthers would give them a leg up on Williamson for the Small School title, while Troy is battling for playoff standings.

Towanda (8-4) at Williamson (8-6), 4:30 p.m.: Another big game for both teams. The Knights are still in the hunt for a home district game if they finish strong, and the same for Williamson.

Wyalusing (7-8) at Sayre (2-10), 4:30 p.m.: The Rams’ road trip heads back to the Valley as they take on the Redskins. Sayre comes into the week on a 4-game losing streak.

Wellsboro (4-9) at Canton (3-12), 4:30 p.m.: Canton lost a tight one in their first meeting, 12-9, as they look to get some revenge.

BASEBALL

Towanda (9-6) at Williamson (3-8), 4:30 p.m.: The Knights head west for their third game in four days as they make their playoff push.

Wellsboro (6-8) at Canton (6-9), 4:30 p.m.: Both teams likely need to win this game if they’re going to make the playoffs, so this one will have a playoff type feel.

Wyalusing (3-12) at Sayre (2-12), 4:30 p.m.: Sayre comes in on a 10-game losing streak as their only wins this year have been forfeits from NEB.
