
HUGHESVILLE — Towanda fell 5-0 to Hughesville in non-league softball action Saturday.
The two teams had nine hits each, and neither team had an error, but the Spartans just got the big hit when they needed it.
Payton Perry (2-for-4), Kynlee Kunkle (2-for-3), Molly Roberts (2-for-3), and Aleah Johnson (2-for-3) all had multi-hit games, as Tae-Lynn Brabant (1-for-4) also had a hit.
Brabant got the start, going five innings with seven strikeouts, one walk, six hits, and three runs, two of which were earned.
Johnson tossed the final inning, striking out two with no walks, three hits, and two earned runs.
Hughesville broke through in the third with a run, then added two in each of the fifth and sixth innings.
Towanda (9-5) hosts CV on Monday with a 4:30 p.m. start.
