NTL BASEBALL: FRYE'S 1-HITTER PROPELS TROY PAST SAYRE (2025-05-12)

EAST TROY — Joseph Frye tossed a 1-hitter as Troy blanked Sayre, 10-0 in six innings, during NTL baseball action Monday.

Frye struck out six with two walks, and one hit by pitch on the afternoon for the win.


Troy jumped out with five runs in the first, then added one in the second. They added two in the fifth, and then scored three in the sixth to finish off the win.


Jack Burbage (2-for-3) had a double with 3-RBI as Camden Allen (2-for-4) scored twice with 3-RBI. Lincoln Chimics (1-for-3) had a double, two runs, and an RBI, with Reed Palmer (1-for-3) scoring twice while adding an RBI, and a triple.


Frye (1-for-2) scored twice, and drove in a run, as Brendan Gilliland crossed home twice, and Trey Teribury (2-for-3) had a multi-hit game.


In the first Gilliland drew a 1-out walk then scored on a Palmer’s triple. Chimics and Frye then drew back to back walks to load the bases.


Allen then singled in Palmer and Chimics, followed by Burbage doubling in Frye and Allen for the 5-0 lead.


In the second Gilliland reached on a lead-off error then scored on a Frye hit.


In the fifth Allen reached on an error then found home on a Burbage hit.


For the sixth Palmer led off by drawing a walk, then scored on a Chimics double. He would later score on an error.


Frye then drew a walk with Allen ending the game with with an RBI single.


Troy (13-5) will travel to Sullivan County on Tuesday with a 4:30 p.m. start.
