
WYSOX — Towanda softball powered their way past CV, 6-1, in NTL action on Monday, punching their ticket to districts in the process.
The Knights had 10 hits in the game as they scored one run in the first, two in the third, and three in the sixth to pull away. CV got one run in the fourth.
Aleah Johnson earned the win, going seven innings with seven strikeouts, one walk, three hits, and one earned run.
Caedence Wells (1-for-3) had a home run, with 3-RBI, as Tae-Lynn Brabant (2-for-3) had a triple with a run scored, and an RBI.
Brooklyn Evans (2-for-4) and Johnson (2-for-3) each had an RBI, as Payton Perry scored twice. Brynsen Vargason (1-for-2), and Leila Cobb both scored.
Kynlee Kunkle (1-for-3) and Molly Roberts (1-for-2) both had hits.
In the first Perry reached on an error, then later scored on a Johnson hit for the 1-0 lead.
In the third Perry drew a 1-out walk, then scored on Brabant’s triple. Evans then singled in Brabant for the 3-0 lead.
In the sixth Vargason drew a lead-off walk, followed by Cobb reaching on an error. Wells then took the first offering to her over the left field fence to make it 6-1.
Towanda (10-5) travels to Sayre on Wednesday with a 4:30 p.m. start.
