NTL FOOTBALL: TROY'S WOODWARD TO JOIN HIS BROTHER AT LYCOMING (2025-06-03)

Northern Tier Sports Report
After leading Troy football to a state title quarterback Evan Woodward will now be taking his talents to Lycoming College to play for the Warriors.

“Evan Woodward is great player and an even better person,” said Troy coach Jim Smith. “Evan quietly lead by example both on and off the field last season. He demonstrated great work ethic in the offseason and was always reliable even through illness or injury. Evan was one of the best teammates I have ever had the opportunity to coach.”

Last year Woodward threw for 1,716 yards and 22 touchdowns against two interceptions with a 143 passer rating. He also rushed for 889 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Defensively, he had 60 tackles and two picks.

“Over the last two years his leadership helped our team to a 28-1 record, and an eventual state championship,” said Smith. “He is a player who can never be replaced but his impact has helped to show many others how to carry themselves as an athlete.”

Woodward will be teaming with Towanda standout Riley Vanderpool, and his brother Mason Woodward.

“I am excited to see Evan’s next chapter, as he heads to Lycoming,” said Smith. “They got a great player, and person, and it’s great to see him stay local.”
