Wyalusing saw some strong performances this season in track and field, ending with a new state medalist.
At the NTL Championship the Rams had a strong showing on the boys’ side, taking fourth with 71.5 points, while the girls finished eighth with 44 points.
The biggest highlight of the season was Dylan Johns capturing a state medal by taking sixth at the PIAA Championships in the Class AA boys’ high jump competition. He jumped 6-foot, 3-inches, and had a season best 6-foot, 5-inches this season.
They also had a couple district medalists in seniors Zibiah Walton (triple jump) and James Rogan (110 hurdles), along with junior Jonathan Earle (pole vault).
Four other underclassmen also qualified for districts on the boys’ side, giving them good experience for down the road.
On the girls’ side seniors Gabrielle Palfreyman and Abby Trowbridge paced the Rams this season, and postseason.
Palfreyman was a 2-time district medalist (shot put and discus), while Trowbridge also got on the district podium (high jump).
