Northern Tier Sports ReportMANSFIELD — Canton fell in a high scoring back and forth contest to Southern Tioga, 15-14, during District 15 Little League Majors softball action Thursday.
Canton led 2-0 after one, but it was tied at 3-3 after two. Southern would go up 5-4 heading into the fourth, where they scored four runs in the top half.
Canton rallied in the bottom half, exploding for 10 runs as they took a 14-9 lead.
Southern Tioga would chip away, scoring four in the fifth, and two more in the six, to nab the win.
Laurel Pepper (2-for-4) had a double, three runs scored, and 2-RBI for Canton, as Maycee Walker (1-for-3) scored three times. Shaira-Lee Meyer (1-for-4) would score, and drive in a run.
Gracelyn Ward and Kennedy Wilcox both walked three times and scored twice, as Cayleigh Bedford, Kendyl Hoover, and Braelyn Hartford all scored, with Hartford and Bedford both driving in runs.
Wilcox struck out 10 for Canton.
