LITTLE LEAGUE: CANTON FALLS TO WELLSBORO IN HEARTBREAKER (2025-06-19)

WELLSBORO — Canton lost a heartbreaker to Wellsboro in a 6-5 walk-off during District 15 Little League Minors baseball bracket play action Thursday.

Canton used a 3-run third to take a lead, then kept it at 4-1 after four. They led by as much as 5-1 midway through the fifth when Wellsboro rallied with three runs to cut it to 5-4.


In the sixth Wellsboro scored two in the bottom half of the inning to pull out the win.


Weston Driscoll (1-for-2) had 2-RBI, as Jackson Brock (1-for-2) scoring a run, and driving one in.


Ike Preston, Tommy Cochran (1-for-2), Cam Eberlin, and William Finogle all scored, as Huntley Thomas and Avery Moore both drove in runs. 


Dean Pepper (1-for-3) had a hit.


Moore started, and went two innings to strikeout our, while Pepper struck out one in 1 1/3-innings of action.


Driscoll pitched two-thirds of an inning with two strikeouts, while Finogle came on to pitch. Preston went the final 1 1/3-innings with two strikeouts.


Canton will travel to Allegheny Mountain on Monday in the first round of the consolation bracket.
