
WELLSBORO — Troy pounded out 18 hits as they rolled past Wellsboro, 17-9, in District 15 Little League Minors Softball action Friday.
After a scoreless first two innings Wellsboro pushed six across in the third, but Troy notched 11 in the bottom half of the inning.
Wellsboro out scored Troy 3-2 in the fourth, but a 4-run fifth from Troy put the game out of reach.
Mariska Putnam (3-for-4) had a double, 3-RBI, and a run scored, as Leah Cole (2-for-2) had two doubles, 2-RBI, and two runs scored.
Eryne Vanderpool (2-for-2) had a double, three runs scored, and an RBI, as Baylie Northrup (2-for-3) had a double, a triple, 3-RBI, and a run scored.
Abby Judson (2-for-4) had two runs scored, with an RBI, as Gabriella Friedlander (2-for-3) finished with two runs scored, and an rBI.
Haylee Estep (2-for-3) had a double, two runs scored, and an RBI, with Kenslee Barth (2-for-3) scoring and driving in a run.
Jocelyn Shumway (1-for-4) had a double with a run scored, as Delaney Kenyon scored twice.
Putnam started, going 2 2/3-innings with five strikeouts, while Estep tossed the final 3 1/3-innings with seven strikeouts.
Troy will travel to Towanda on Sunday with a 4 p.m. start.
